The Bookmark
The Henry’s Books Foundation believes that access to literature is vital to the culture of our community—especially when it includes elevating the voices of local writers.
The Bookmark is a quarterly broad-sheet style publication produced and printed by The Henry’s Books Foundation.
The cost for each digital edition is $5 but because we value removing barriers to literary access, you are welcome to use the code FREEBKMK if finances are a barrier.

Do I have to use a prompt?
No! Prompts are entirely optional. We also love to read unprompted work!
What about AI?
We ask that the work you submit to The Bookmark is your original work and has not been generated or "co-written" by artificial intelligence. Submissions found to be AI-generated will be disqualified from consideration.
Multiple submissions
We don't mind if you send multiple submissions, however, it is unlikely we will use more than one of your stories or poems in the same issue.
Additionally:
Writers should include a two- to three-sentence biography of themselves that we can use in the journal should your work be accepted.
All pieces will be reviewed and selection for publication will be made by our Reading Committee.
Authors will only be notified by email if their submission was selected.
